Description: The book is an integrated learning system designed to present the fundamentals of Yoruba to learners at the beginning level. As the title indicates, the text invites students from the very beginning to communicate meaningfully in Yoruba and at the same time to understand better the daily life and attitudes of Yoruba-speaking people. Learners who complete the book will master the basic vocabulary, functions, and structures of the Yoruba language, and will achieve an appreciation of the culture of the Yoruba-speaking world.
Editorial Board Review: This textbook is very useful to beginning learners in achieving all skills at the basic level if used along with the accompanying materials. It exposes learners to the day to day activities of the Yoruba people and their ways of life. It has lots of activities that can help learners to personalize the use of the Yoruba language. No previous knowledge of the language is assumed before using the textbook.
