Description: This chapter is addressed to language teachers and others interested in how to place culture at the core of language teaching by systematically introducing intercultural competence into the classroom.
Editorial Board Review: This article introduces a developmental model of intercultural sensitivity. It also explains this model in relation to a definition of culture containing two elements, objective and subjective culture. Three Ethnocentric and Ethnorelative stages are explained and exemplified. The Stages of Development of Intercultural Sensitivity are exemplified in relation to language development.
